Grade 12 Student Marley Performs at the 2025 Prix de Lausanne
Each year, the Prix de Lausanne hosts a Partner School Choreographic Project that brings together students from partner dance training organizations to learn and perform a tailor-made choreography with a renowned choreographer. One student from select Partner Schools is invited to visit Lausanne, Switzerland for one week to engage in a unique collective educational experience of choreography creation which concludes with public performances.
Grade 12 Professional Ballet Program student Marley went as the representative for NBS and spent a week working on Our Common Fate, an original piece by choreographer Jessica Lang. The choreography was set up and staged in only a few days as the students rehearsed it as a group for the first time. The young dancers performed Our Common Fate over three nights at the Prix de Lausanne—at the Soirée Chorégraphique, the Finals’ Interlude Performance, and during the Rising Stars closing event.
We are thrilled that Marley had this invaluable opportunity to work with an incredible choreographer in a completely new environment, meet and train with peers from around the world, and to showcase her achievements on the world stage.
